Battery Power- You will want to check how many hours your laptop can run on just batter power.
Processors- You want to know how fast your processor is and how much power it consumes from your battery. Desktops and laptops have similar processors these days unless you purchase a budget machine. It is worth the extra expense you make sure your machine has a good processor.
Memory-Random Access Memory or (RAM) is what your computer uses to process programs and information. This is very important factor for the speed in which your computer performs. Try to have at least 4GB of RAM.
Hard Drives- Your computer's hard drive is the storage space for your computers data and programs. Hard drives are rated by the gigabytes (GB). Get a computer with a large GB to be able to accommodate all data you want to store such as pictures, images, music, movies and programs.
You want to next decide if you are going to purchase a PC or an Apple Computer. If you don't use allot of graphics and pictures for work personal use you can get a PC that runs on Microsoft. They are less expensive than an Apple which uses a different operating system and interface.
